The Stock Market:

Why is the stock market tanking when the job numbers are so good? There are a few factors coming into play.

1. People are getting paid more. That is great! Then why does the stock market go down? When wages go up that means people have more money in their pockets. The Fed looks at that and thinks to it's self, is it time to raise the interest rates? People get scared and start taking money out and/or moving it around to more stable investments.

2. Inflation. America is growing! Things are at a all time high! Inflated stocks now means deflated stocks later. Inflation is great, but inflation inflating too fast hurts the economy.

3. Domino Effect. Once a few big players start taking money our or moving stocks, people's confidence goes down and they start taking out their money and 401ks.

4. The Fed and interest rates. Right now interest rates are very low. Lower than they should be. When interest rates are low people buy more houses and refinance their mortgages. The interest rates affect the stock market. When the Fed increases the interest rate, it doesn’t directly affect the stock market itself., but it does become more expensive for banks to borrow money from the Fed. Increases to the federal funds rate does have a ripple effect on the Stock Market.

Over the last 2 years I have seen the stock market grow exponentially. The has been record highs for stocks.  Amazon is at $1400 a share, Google Stock over $1000.00 a share, and Facebook getting up over $180.00 a share... growth is good, but too much growth too fast will make things artificially inflated.

WHAT GOES UP! MUST COME DOWN!

WOW! PUMPING GAS WAS AN ADEVENTURE!

Before going into work I had to get some gas for the old chuga lug car. As I was pumping gas I saw 3 things that were very strange:

First a man and two ladies walked up to me and asked me if I had a lighter. I said, sorry I don't have one on me. Then three of them were about to open the front door of the gas station, but the attendant locked the door and didn't let them in. They started screaming and threatening to call the cops. "They are denying us service" they exclaim! "I'm going to call the police" the Man says! 30 seconds later... they just walked away.

At this point I pumped about $15.00 into my car. I look around like I always do attentive to my surroundings. I notice this old man (must have been in his 80s) walking on the sidewalk with no shirt and wearing what looked to be some type of underpants as his work-out attire... My eyes are still hurting from that sight.

The third thing was the almost accident. Everyone seems to be in a rush nowadays. The person turning right didn't want to stop and yield at the red light. The person U-turning saw it coming and sped up to go in front before the person turned right. Of course... they both met in the middle 6" inches from each other’s front ends. Neither one wanted to reverse or move... it was a stand off until people started to beep. They both lost.
